The wave

The word Gunyama in the aboriginal language is related with the wind. Prevailing winds blow from North- East, South and North-West; according to this scheme, buildings are generated by the winds’ direction.

From a study of the solar position during the whole year, the project takes advantages of the best possible guidance for the activities’ requests, minimizing effects of shading generated by the building over the area. Also for Gunyama Park we have considered the best solution to create areas with shadows using the vegetation.

The park is thought as an opportunity to create a space which is integrated and related with the Green Square Aquatic Centre. We put attention in create an urban ecological node with a park rich in biodiversity species by using the original native plants and connecting the area with the surrounding neighborhood.
