loft 70, Barcelona, Spain
In the trendy neighbourhood of Poble Sec in Barcelona, we transformed an old warehouse into a romantic two-storey loft.
With the blessing of the clients, a family of artists called the Pedrin Family, we decided to strip all the surfaces of the warehouse to create a raw, unfinished environment.
The plan was to leave everything found under the plastered and painted walls, roof and floor in its original state, including structural cracks.
We made all these imperfections visually apparent without hiding the restoration work.
Our aim was to capture the essence of the original materials and textures, blending them with new, warm, minimalist elements.
We converted the old warehouse into a raw, naked loft divided into two floors.
The two spaces are connected by a cantilevered metal staircase.
On the lower floor, the entrance opens onto a dining room, which is linked to the kitchen by a continuous furniture system that continues up the staircase to the upper floor, where an open space dedicated to study, relaxation and wellbeing opens up.
The two floors have two different glazed bathrooms facing the open spaces and a patio.
As you enter, the space opens up, revealing two more intimate rooms on each floor: The bedroom and the home theatre room.
